Consumer Product Safety Commission Update 3/18/2011

On 3/18/2011, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urband Development (HUD) issued updated REMEDIATION and IDENTIFICATION guidance for homes with problem drywall.

We have carefully reviewed these two updated documents from the CPSC and HUD.  The interim guidance for identification remains mostly unchanged since the previous guidance issued on 8/27/2010.  However, the interim guidance for remediation of homes with problem drywall has changed significantly since guidance previously issued on 4/2/2010.  The updated guidance for remediation includes a more scaled down version of the one previously issued.

To obtain a copy of these new communications from the CPSC and HUD, please email Inspector@krossinspectors.com.  Further studies and updates will be provided over the next few days at www.krossinspectors.com/chinesedrywall

Now, more than ever, it is very important that consumers use caution when seeking professional assistance for Inspecting or Remediatiing a home for Chinese Drywall.  Kross Inspectors is the first company that ever offered Chinese Drywall inspections in the country!  Our extensive experience and comprehensive inspection protocol helps protect consumers when making important decisions regarding home purchases or potential Chinese Drywall problems.

Name That Deficiency!

Every week, we offer consumers and Real Estate Professionals a chance to win a gift certificate.  This is our thanks for the many referrals and loyal customers our professional Inspectors have earned.

Many consumers and Realtors attend our inspections.  During these inspections, our Inspectors always perform a thorough walk through, pointing out the deficiencies found and offering maintenance tips for new home owners.  Many of those attending our inspection often say "Wow, I never would have caught that!"

We invite everyone to participate in our weekly "Name That Deficiency Contest".
