An increasing number of calls are coming in from potential home buyers asking about how safe it is to purchase a home that has been remediated for Chinese Drywall. 

The home buyers contacting Kross Inspectors have raised many concerns about how many shortcuts the contractor may have taken in the remediation process and what risks those shortcuts may pose to the new occupants of the home.  

In consulting these concerned people, the first thing we ask them to obtain before committing to the purchase is the "Third Party Documentation" obtained during the remediation process.  This documentation and verification is provided by an inspection firm not affiliated with the contractor performing the remediation.

In more than 50% of these situations, the contractor or seller did not have this third party documentation.  This leaves the potential buyer with having to trust that the seller/contractor performed a proper remediation of the property.  In following up on these situations, most buyers walked!
