Chinese Drywall Update 2/7/2011 - Deaths NOT Linked To Chinese Drywall!
Press Release From The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on 1/31/2011: A review provided to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Environmental Health finds that there is no evidence linking exposure to problem drywall and 11 reported deaths. The CDC review confirms the results of previous reviews conducted by CPSC into these deaths, which also found no link to problem drywall.
To date, there has not been any confirmation that either short term or long term exposure to the off gassing from defective drywall causes adverse health effects. Kross Inspectors has performed over 7,000 Chinese Drywall Inspections and does not take this issue lightly. We mandate that our Inspectors protect themselves by wearing professional grade respirators when they sense that a home contains defective drywall. Many homeowners have complained about respiratory distress, sort throats, nose bleeds, chest pains, and skin irritation when exposed to gasses emitted from defective drywall.
Press Release From Kross Inspectors on 2/1/2011: Jim Kreider, the President of Kross Inspectors comments on possible adverse health effects from exposure to Chinese Drywall off gassing: "I have personally experienced many of the symptoms described by occupants of Chinese Drywall Homes. Our Inspectors are instructed to wear protective breathing equipment and take periodic fresh air breaks if they suspect a home contains defective drywall. They have also been instructed to provide guidance to guests attending the Inspection about possible adverse health effects and how to protect themselves."
We want to hear from you! Have you experienced any unusual health effects from being exposed to Chinese Drywall homes? If so, please email your experience to Inspector@krossinspectors.com. We are gathering this information to provide to the CPSC and the CDC to add to their study.

FREE Garage Door Remote Programming!
Kross Inspectors HomeWatch FREE Offer
One of the first things a Home Buyer does when leaving the closing table is to change the locks on their new home. Many Home Buyers often forget to scramble the code on the garage door opener and re program existing remotes and new remotes.
Forgetting this important step poses a security risk for the home. Even though a previous occupant may have left behind remotes for the garage door opener, there is no way to guarantee that there are not other remotes that can still operate the system. By scrambling the system and reprogramming remotes, the new home owner can rest assured that they are the only ones that can open the garage door and gain entry to the home.
For a limited time, the HomeWatch division of Kross Inspectors is offering a FREE scrambling and reprogramming service to our Inspection Clients.
Order a Full Home Inspection between 2/7/2011 and 2/28/2011 and receive this $55 service for FREE!
