As Daylight Savings Time comes to an end today, please do not for get to set your clocks back one hour and equally important, change the batteries and test your smoke and carbon monixide detectors!
About 90 percent of American homes have smoke detectors, however almost one third of them do not work due to aged, dead, or missing batteries! Smoke alarms are a very important part of home safety. You should test your alarms every month (do this the same day you change your air conditioning filter). You should replace the batteries in your smoke alarm at least twice per year. Smoke alarms older than 10 years should also be replaced as they have outlived their effective life.
