New Settlement In Federal Drywall Case 4/26/2011

U.S. District Court Judge Eldon Fallon disclosed a proposed settlement filed on 4/26/2011.  The proposed settlement states that a drywall supplier's insurers will pay up to $8 Million to settle court claims.

The insurers are for Interior/Exterior Building Supply (a drywall supplier that distributed products manufactured by Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin Co and Taishan Gypsum Co) have come to an agreement that would help settle claims for 1,200 to 1,500 property owners. 

Although this is a significant milestone in the Chinese Drywall class action, there are still many homeowners that will not see any benefit. 

Further news issued by the Federal Court also include an update to identifying markings of defective drywall.  Kross Inspectors has maintained an extensive catalog of drywall markings in order to assist those that may have defective drywall installed in their home.
